 I forgot to add my thoughts about the Pantry in Green Mountain Falls, we LOVE it there too! My son is one of the few who finished the HUGE pancake and got it free last year for breakfast. (He hasn't wanted pancakes to this day) :P Their food is wonderful there and we love sitting outside to enjoy the views. We had looked at the house for sale across the street and down from the pantry a few years ago. Seems like a very nice little community!

Hi Sherry! It is nice to "meet" you. I had to laugh when you said that people are getting tired of hearing you talk about colorful Colorado. I do believe some people are now trying to go the other way when I starting talking about the gray sky, lingering dirty snow, and frigid temperatures here compared to Colorado's blue skies and pure white snow. I think I am still looking at the same snow that fell in December sitting in my yard - not a pretty site. It sounds like you have lived in some beautiful places. I am born and raised in the Chicago area. My husband and I moved out to a rural farm town in Indiana (about 1-1/2 hours outside of the city) when our youngest went to college 8 years ago. We were anxious to experience the woods and somewhat solitude of a couple of acres and see if we missed the city - we definitely do not! We have traveled and seen different parts of the country, but Phil and I fell in love with the Pike's Peak area 9 years ago on our first visit and have been back about 5-6 times since. We love exploring the different areas when we visit there and also are not sure exactly where we might want to live - do we stay right in the heart of Woodland or go out a bit for the space that we love, but a bit less convenient?? A lot to consider. We are actually planning a short trip to Woodland Park the first week in May - I am really looking forward to that. It is fun to check the webcams every day and now the forum, too, as we get to meet each other - the more the merrier!

Mooselover22, It's nice to meet you too! SOOooo you have people running the other direction do ya? That is really funny!! My family is so far gone that we really think that all our aches and pains that we have here in the Midwest DISAPPEAR after a few days in WP. THEY REALLY DO!! I don't know if it's the Super clean air and NO HUMIDITY that effects us or what but we always feel GREAT out there. We are planning on going out the first of June and staying for a month. Have you started looking at places out there yet? We love going out and checking the real estate around WP. We have found 3 different homes that we would be happy with but alas, they have sold each time before we could do anything about it. I really think I could become a broker with as many houses as we have seen. :D I also like keeping up with the housing market on line every week. They really have a wide variety of housing options in the WP area. We will all have to give each other tips on the things we find out about the Pikes Peak area. I will start thinking about my Favorite places to go sightseeing, fishing, hiking , eating, places we have stayed, things we have done......will write more later! Have a Great (not so sunny gray) day!!

Hello! Stella...
I love Woodland Park too and sometimes I miss it a lot! I lived there for several years at 400 N. Coraline. Do you know where that is? However, I've lived in Tampa, Florida since August of 1995. I'm so grateful for the live Woodland Park webcam! When I get too homesick, I can look at it and almost feel like I'm back there again! :-)

Hey Stella - I think I will still opt for the snow in WP - at least you know the sun will be out soon  We are also getting deluged with rain here in the Midwest. We are heading to WP the first week in May. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather!

Hi Everyone. I live in Woodland Park and just wanted to answer a few of your questions. The place next to the movie theater is called Tony's Bistro and is still open. The economy here is not so good, a lot has been shutting down lately but I do hear that they are planning on building that large shopping center on the rodeo grounds, of course they have been talking about it for years and I am still waiting for them to break ground! It is beautiful here right now with the start of spring. We are actually moving to Gunnison in a month or so if things go as planned and will probably rent our place here out instead of selling as I do want to return here one day. Please email me if you have any questions about the area and I would be happy to help if I am able to :) starrycolorado@aol.com

there was a man

Postby salenfl25 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 5:18 am

Once upon a time, there was a man. A genie appeared to the man, and offered him one wish.

"Well," said the man, "I've always wanted to go to Fiji, but plane tickets are so expensive, and boats are so slow. Can you build a bridge from Los Angeles to Fiji?"

"I'm sorry, man," the genie said. "You're pretty much asking for the impossible. That's six thousand miles of bridge. Plus, you'll need fuel stations and motels on the way. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to ask for something else."

"Oh," said the disappointed man. "Well, can you grant me the ability to understand women?"

The genie cleared his throat. "How many lanes did you want on that bridge?"

A Blonde and a Brunette are running a ranch together

Postby salenfl25 » Thu Jul 29, 2010 5:21 pm

A Blonde and a Brunette are running a ranch together in Louisiana. They decide they need a bull to mate with their cows to increase their herd. The Brunette takes their life savings of $600 dollars and goes to Texas to buy a bull. She eventually meets with an old cowboy that will sell her a bull. "It's the only one I got for $599, take it or leave it." She buys the bull and goes to the local telegram office and says, "I'd like to send a telegram to my friend in Louisiana that says: Have found the stud bull for our ranch, Anaheim Ducks apparel

"I'd like to send one word, please." "And what word would that be?" inquires the man."Comfortable." replies the Brunette. The man asks, "I'm sorry miss, but how is your friend gonna understand this telegram?" The Brunette replies, "My friend is Blonde and reads REAL slow. When she gets this, she will see COM-FOR-DA-BULL."
